CytoSport takes advantage of Highcroft troubles

As the 58th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida enters darkness, things are getting interesting in LMP2 and GT2. Muscle Milk Team CytoSport took advantage of electrical problems for the then-class-leading Patrón Highcroft Racing HPD ARX-01c and turned it into a six-lap lead with three hours left in the opening round of the 2010 American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón.

Klaus Graf was at the wheel of the CytoSport Porsche RS Spyder. He ran fourth overall behind the Anthony Davidson in the race-leading Peugeot 908 HDi FAP. Davidson and teammate Nic Minassian were only 19 seconds apart with Aston Martin Racing’s Harold Primat two laps back and in third.

Meanwhile in GT2, the top three cars were on the lead lap – Jaime Melo in Risi Competizione’s Ferrari F430 GT ahead of BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team’s BMW M3s of Bill Auberlen and Andy Priaulx.

Mark Wilkins was comfortably ahead in Level 5 Motorsports ORECA FLM09 for the LMPC class over Green Earth Team Gunnar’s Elton Julian.

Alex Job Racing’s Butch Leitzinger led GTC by two laps over the sister car of Bill Sweedler.
