October 2, 2010, 4:15pm ET – Braselton, Georgia. – Near the halfway point of Petit Le Mans, Flying Lizard No. 45 Porsche is second in GT and the No. 44 is tenth. After more than four hours and 45 minutes of racing, the Lizards have had a nearly problem free race. The No. 45 of Joerg Bergmeister, Patrick Long, and Marc Lieb has climbed gradually from an eighth place start to second in GT. The No. 44 Porsche of Seth Neiman, Darren Law and Marco Holzer has moved from fourteenth to tenth. With numerous full course cautions so far, the GT field has shuffled quite a bit – currently the No. 61 Risi Competizione Ferrari is leading., The No. 4 Corvette is P3 and the No. 3 Corvette is P4.

Bergmeister commented on the race so far, “In my stint, I just tried to stay out of trouble, I didn’t take any chances, especially in traffic. We have a solid race car right now, during my stint the pace was more or less the same from the beginning to the end of the stint. We just have to keep doing what were are doing for the second half of the race.

Bergmeister and Long lead the drivers’ championship by 22 points; there are 30 points possible for first place at Petit, which will run a maximum of 1000 miles or 10 hours, whichever comes first. They must finish tenth or better in class and complete 70 percent of the laps of the class winner to clinch the title. Flying Lizard also leads the team championship and Porsche leads in the manufacturers’ title, each by one point: both of those championships will also be decided today.
