MUSCLE MILK TEAM CYTOSPORT FAST AND READY FOR SEBRING QUALIFYING

Muscle Milk Team CytoSport completed its final preparations today for its debut in America’s oldest endurance race on Saturday.

With everything going according to plan during today’s practice sessions, the Muscle Milk squad placed in the top two in the LMP2 class in all three sessions and sixth overall in the 34 car field.

Drivers Greg Pickett, Klaus Graf and Sascha Maassen each took turns behind the wheel of the Porsche RS Spyder under different track conditions, getting comfortable with the car and working on different race set-ups ahead of Saturday’s American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón season-opener.

Satisfied with the car’s performance and looking to keep a conservative approach the team has opted to sit out the morning practice session on Friday and return to the track only for the qualifying session at 2:25 p.m. ET.

The Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Fresh From Florida goes green on Saturday, March 20 at 10:30 am ET and will be broadcast live on SPEED from 10:00 a.m. – Noon and from 2:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. (Eastern Time).

What they had to say:
Greg Pickett, Owner/Driver #6 Muscle Milk Porsche RS Spyder
“We feel real good about where we’re at right now. I think the team has done a good job over the winter. They have gotten a lot of stuff squared away. We’ve had trouble free running since we’ve been here and we’ve probably got as many laps in if not more than most. We’ve always been top or second in class in the sessions and really without extending ourselves a lot.
“We’re taking the conservative route. I made a management decision about that. We’re going to forgo the morning practice tomorrow and give the guys some extra rest in the morning. Then in qualifying we’re not going to go break any track records and remain conservative. Saturday is a long day. You’re only fast for a little while here and then you have 12 hours to show everybody how bad you are! We’re focused on the race and I think it’s a smart thing for us to do. We have had a lot of good fortune so far and everything has been fine and we want to keep it that way.”

Klaus Graf, Driver #6 Muscle Milk Porsche RS Spyder
“So far it has been extremely successful for us. I think in the sessions we achieved what we wanted to achieve. All the drivers got comfortable in the car, which is one of the major factors here at this race. Another factor, as we saw over the week, is that the track changes a lot and it is going to be like that in the race most likely, the ambient temperature will continue to climb which will change the track again. So, even though we are prepared very, very well there are a lot of unknowns going into the race, but obviously that will be the same for all the teams. I still believe we have a really, really good race package, extremely reliable so to go rather conservative right now is a smart thing. Everybody did a fantastic job, hats off to the mechanics, crew chief Mike Seymour and Team Manager Geoff Carter. The guys prepared the car extremely well. We haven’t missed a single beat so far and I think that’s already a big achievement going into qualifying tomorrow and then the race.”

Sascha Maassen, Driver #6 Muscle Milk Porsche RS Spyder
“All three drivers have done a lot of laps and have gotten comfortable with the car and the track. The Muscle Milk Team CytoSport crew has done a great job preparing the car and making everything run smoothly. I think even with a conservative approach we can do well in qualifying tomorrow. I know that the team is well prepared and has done everything to get a good result. I can’t wait for the race to start and for it to be a little warmer!”
