Why We’re Here: David Robertson

The world’s top auto manufacturers aren’t the only ones who see the value in the platform of the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón. Just listen to David Robertson…

“This Series is so appealing to me because it is the only Series in the world that really matters,” said the team owner and driver of the Robertson Racing Doran-Ford GT. He will team with wife Andrea and David Murry in next week’s American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park.

“All the interesting development, all the interesting technology, all the things that help the future … this is where they come from,” he added. “No other series fills that square. Formula 1 doesn’t anymore. The esoteric stuff they play with will never be relevant to my street car. But everything we are playing with is. Everything that goes on here is interesting and matters. It’s just the neatest Series going.”

Robertson and the rest of the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón will travel to Lime Rock Park next week for the American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix. The fifth round of the 2010 season is a two-hour, 45-minute race set for 2:05 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 24 from Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn. SPEED will air the race live at 2 p.m. ET. Live radio coverage will be available on American Le Mans Radio presented by Porsche – a production of Radio Show Limited – as well as Sirius Channel 127 and XM Channel 242. Visit the Series’ schedule page for ticket and accommodation information. Live Timing and Scoring, track schedule, entry list and much, much more will be available on Racehub at americanlemans.com.
