Toronto Motorcycle Show – Wrap Up

Dec 10-12 Toronto, Metro Convention Centre

To those of us who attended, another Toronto Motorcycle Show has passed into our collective memory. Many motorcycle enthusiasts attended to see, sit on and ask questions about the latest new models. Some went to look for deals on parts or accessories, while others came out to meet and hear and perhaps have a chat with some of Canada’s most talented motorcycle racers.

Industry insiders participated in forums and shared their views on the state of the sport and challenges for the industry, currently and into the future.

All major manufacturers were there displaying their latest models and updated prior year models. Technology in the industry keeps advancing and this year show certainly confirmed the trend with advanced systems appearing in more and more models. The choice of equipment for everyone from the person just starting to consider the possibility of joining the sport to the novice to the most experienced riders has never been greater. This was a great opportunity to see, hear and experience much of what  the industry and sport has to offer in one convenient venue.

A backbone of motorcycling are the various clubs and groups that provide a social element to motorcycling. Clubs have been around almost from the time that motorcycles first appeared. They represent a primal urge for collective expression while respecting individuality. Several clubs were represented at this years show, among them, the Zen Riders , which I joined recently.

In the few short months that I have been associated with the Zen’s I have gleaned a lot of useful information, made new friends and gotten advice on issues that were of interest to me. If you are new to motorcycling, joining a club is a great way to begin. If you are an experienced rider with years in the saddle, but never a member, (as was my status), a club may be a new way to renew and refresh your passion. Whatever your situation there are many clubs catering to varying styles and motivations. There is probably one out there for you.

See you next year and don’t forget to check our Photo Coverage
