{"id":10819,"date":"2011-01-31T06:57:52","date_gmt":"2011-01-31T11:57:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=10819"},"modified":"2011-01-31T06:57:52","modified_gmt":"2011-01-31T11:57:52","slug":"most-drivers-feel-sick-in-simulators-schumacher","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/most-drivers-feel-sick-in-simulators-schumacher\/","title":{"rendered":"Most drivers feel sick in simulators &#8211; Schumacher"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Michael Schumacher insists he is not the only driver who suffers from motion sickness at the wheel of simulators.<\/p>\n<p>A major story broke last week suggesting that Schumacher&#8217;s limited time in Mercedes&#8217; Brackley simulator could explain his struggle to keep up with Nico Rosberg after returning to F1.<\/p>\n<p>But little coverage was given to former drivers including Martin Brundle and Alex Wurz who said they also feel sick when using simulators.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think almost all the drivers that I know have had it (motion sickness),&#8221; agreed Schumacher, in conversation with Telegraph Sport.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When we had our first simulator at Ferrari I had exactly this feeling already so it&#8217;s nothing to do with age.\u00a0 People get used to it by going through certain processes,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Schumacher revealed that Rosberg also had problems with the Mercedes simulator in 2010, and played down the usefulness of the technology.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As far as I understand there are some other top teams that have a simulator but make very little use of it,&#8221; said the German.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For us drivers the main benefit of them would be to get used to a track.\u00a0 But for me personally that has never been an issue.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t see the big advantage of them,&#8221; added Schumacher.<\/p>\n<p>Mercedes&#8217; new state-of-the-art simulator is not expected to be up and running until next year.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Michael Schumacher insists he is not the only driver who suffers from motion sickness at the wheel of simulators.
