{"id":10948,"date":"2011-02-08T07:06:42","date_gmt":"2011-02-08T12:06:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=10948"},"modified":"2011-02-08T07:06:42","modified_gmt":"2011-02-08T12:06:42","slug":"davidson-says-no-to-kubica-replacement-drive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/davidson-says-no-to-kubica-replacement-drive\/","title":{"rendered":"Davidson says no to Kubica replacement drive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Anthony Davidson has reportedly ruled himself out of contention to replace injured Robert Kubica in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>The 31-year-old Briton was a well-respected Honda test driver who raced full-time for Super Aguri in 2007 and 2008.<\/p>\n<p>He has recently been working with Mercedes GP in the Brackley based team&#8217;s simulator, but his main job is with Peugeot&#8217;s Le Mans team, and he has re-committed for this year.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mirror correspondent Byron Young on Twitter, Davidson said Kubica&#8217;s replacement this year has &#8220;big shoes to fill and must be a title contender&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Young said Davidson had therefore ruled &#8220;himself out of (contention for the) Renault Lotus drive having signed Peugeot Le Mans deal&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Observer correspondent and BBC radio commentator Maurice Hamilton revealed on Tuesday that &#8220;well-informed rally mates tell me Renault have been talking to Kimi (Raikkonen)&#8217;s management team&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They ought to talk to Ant Davidson,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anthony Davidson has reportedly ruled himself out of contention to replace injured Robert Kubica in 2011.
