Timo Glock has revealed he is expecting a “quick recovery” from a sudden bout of appendicitis.<\/p>\n
Virgin boss John Booth revealed on Tuesday that the team’s German driver was only expected to stay another 24 hours in a Swiss hospital following “routine” surgery.<\/p>\n
“To ensure a swift recovery, it is unlikely that he will take part in next week’s test in Barcelona and that Jerome (d’Ambrosio) will run on all four days instead,” said Booth.<\/p>\n
Glock, 28, commented from hospital that he is “very happy” with the success of the operation “and about my quick recovery”.<\/p>\n
“It’s a shame that I’ll probably miss the tests in Barcelona,” he said, although he was sure he would be fit for the season opener in Melbourne later this month.<\/p>\n
“Without an appendix I’m certain to be faster -\u2013 I mean, it must have weighed a few grams at least!” he joked.<\/p>\n
Booth admitted it is possible Glock will be well enough to drive in Barcelona, with Virgin’s programme kicking off next Tuesday.<\/p>\n
“We will make a final decision early next week,” he said.\u00a0 “We look forward to having Timo back with us very soon.”<\/p>\n
