{"id":11393,"date":"2011-03-08T07:04:16","date_gmt":"2011-03-08T12:04:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=11393"},"modified":"2011-03-08T07:04:16","modified_gmt":"2011-03-08T12:04:16","slug":"no-fear-of-losing-vettel-mateschitz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/no-fear-of-losing-vettel-mateschitz\/","title":{"rendered":"No &#8216;fear&#8217; of losing Vettel &#8211; Mateschitz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dietrich Mateschitz on Tuesday said Red Bull will let Sebastian Vettel go if the new world champion wants to switch to a rival team.<\/p>\n<p>Since securing the 2010 title, German Vettel has been quoted on numerous occasions admitting he would like to one day race for fabled Ferrari or Mercedes.<\/p>\n<p>The 23-year-old is under contract only for 2011, while the precise terms of his &#8216;option&#8217; for 2012 are not definitively known.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Whether we &#8216;fear&#8217; losing him is not the terminology we would use,&#8221; Red Bull mogul Mateschitz is quoted by SID news agency.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As long as Sebastian is comfortable with us and has a winning car, he will probably not really think about going elsewhere.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But the Austrian billionaire acknowledged Vettel&#8217;s recent musings about the sport&#8217;s famous marques.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If he tells us one day he wants to go to Ferrari or Mercedes, we would have to understand,&#8221; said Mateschitz.\u00a0 &#8220;There are more mothers with beautiful daughters &#8212; we would let him go.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Mateschitz insists Vettel&#8217;s teammate Mark Webber will enjoy absolute equality in 2011, after the Australian said recently he foresees a longer tenure with the energy drink-owned team.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mark&#8217;s personality is different but he is as good as Sebastian.\u00a0 They are both excellent warriors who can both win the war,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dietrich Mateschitz on Tuesday said Red Bull will let Sebastian Vettel go if the new world champion wants to switch to a rival team.
