{"id":11424,"date":"2011-03-10T06:28:56","date_gmt":"2011-03-10T11:28:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=11424"},"modified":"2011-03-10T06:28:56","modified_gmt":"2011-03-10T11:28:56","slug":"de-la-rosa-returns-home-to-mclaren","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/de-la-rosa-returns-home-to-mclaren\/","title":{"rendered":"De la Rosa returns &#8216;home&#8217; to McLaren"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pedro de la Rosa is returning to McLaren as the British team&#8217;s test and reserve driver.<\/p>\n<p>After leaving his long-time role with the Woking based squad at the end of 2009 to return to racing with Sauber, the 40-year-old was hoping to stay on the grid this year with HRT.<\/p>\n<p>But after HRT announced that Vitantonio Liuzzi will complete the 2011 grid, McLaren said de la Rosa will once again be in its garage this season.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Of all the teams I&#8217;ve driven for in formula one, McLaren is the one that really feels like home,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>De la Rosa is therefore vacating his role as Pirelli&#8217;s tyre test driver, and the Italian marque is expected to name a successor.<\/p>\n<p>McLaren said Gary Paffett, who also races in DTM, will remain a test driver in 2011 but no longer attend grands prix.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pedro de la Rosa is returning to McLaren as the British team&#8217;s test and reserve driver.
