{"id":11494,"date":"2011-03-14T06:58:34","date_gmt":"2011-03-14T10:58:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=11494"},"modified":"2011-03-14T06:58:34","modified_gmt":"2011-03-14T10:58:34","slug":"too-early-to-rule-out-renault-race-wins-boss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/too-early-to-rule-out-renault-race-wins-boss\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Too early&#8217; to rule out Renault race wins &#8211; boss"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Renault is hoping to chase the heels of the pacesetting Red Bull and Ferrari teams with its own 2011 car.<\/p>\n<p>Boss Eric Boullier told Spain&#8217;s El Pais newspaper that the Enstone based designers &#8220;made a commitment to innovation&#8221; when devising the R31 car.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, observers and rivals have lauded the car&#8217;s innovative front exhaust layout.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We spent a lot of time thinking about it and discussing it, as it was a risk.\u00a0 But in the end we said &#8216;Why not?'&#8221; revealed Frenchman Boullier.<\/p>\n<p>Losing lead driver Robert Kubica to injury was a major blow to Renault&#8217;s 2011 campaign, but Boullier said the team is hopeful of a very good season.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s too early to say if we can win races,&#8221; he insisted.\u00a0 &#8220;It will be hard to be there with Red Bull and Ferrari.\u00a0 But they will be our main rivals.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I very much respect Ross Brawn, Mercedes and McLaren and I know they have greater resources; if we can stay ahead of them it will be a great success for us,&#8221; added Boullier.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Renault is hoping to chase the heels of the pacesetting Red Bull and Ferrari teams with its own 2011 car.
