Former grand prix Ricardo Zonta this week received his dream gift — the Toyota he raced in formula one in 2004.<\/p>\n
Globo reports that the 34-year-old Brazilian, who raced a few times in 2004 after Toyota ousted Cristiano da Matta, took delivery of the TF104 at his home in Curitiba.<\/p>\n
“I wouldn’t say it’s a trophy, but it was a part of my life,” said Zonta, who was Cologne based Toyota’s test driver for four years.<\/p>\n
“What happened is that when they left F1, I kept in touch and I always asked to have my car.\u00a0 They managed to fulfil my dream of having an F1 car in my house,” he smiled.<\/p>\n
Zonta made his F1 debut with BAR in 1999, and also worked with Jordan and Renault.<\/p>\n
He has subsequently raced sports cars and in Brazil’s Stock Car series.<\/p>\n
