{"id":11947,"date":"2011-04-17T07:29:38","date_gmt":"2011-04-17T11:29:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=11947"},"modified":"2011-04-17T07:29:38","modified_gmt":"2011-04-17T11:29:38","slug":"williams-not-denying-sam-michael-axe-rumours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/williams-not-denying-sam-michael-axe-rumours\/","title":{"rendered":"Williams not denying Sam Michael axe rumours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Williams chairman Adam Parr on Sunday refused to deny speculation the struggling team might oust its technical director Sam Michael.<\/p>\n<p>The famous Grove-based squad has had a difficult start to the 2011 championship and Parr told Reuters the main problems are in the technical areas.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If Sam thought that the right thing for the team is for him to stop, he&#8217;d stop tomorrow.\u00a0 He wouldn&#8217;t even quibble.\u00a0 He will do whatever is necessary for the team,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Parr admitted that Williams &#8220;will be changing things&#8221; in the near future and said only organisational restructuring is not enough.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You can&#8217;t change what we are doing without changing people,&#8221; he said, admitting that some of the decisions will be &#8220;tough&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Rubens Barrichello&#8217;s FW33 was fitted with a Red Bull-style exhaust earlier in Shanghai but it was removed for qualifying.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There are other areas (too) where we&#8217;ve just not been smart enough,&#8221; said Parr.\u00a0 &#8220;We&#8217;re not lacking in creativity or ambition but it&#8217;s not enough.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There are other people who are being more creative and more ambitious,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Williams chairman Adam Parr on Sunday refused to deny speculation the struggling team might oust its technical director Sam Michael.
