{"id":11978,"date":"2011-04-19T07:00:24","date_gmt":"2011-04-19T11:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=11978"},"modified":"2011-04-19T07:00:24","modified_gmt":"2011-04-19T11:00:24","slug":"alonso-still-happy-with-ferrari-briatore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/alonso-still-happy-with-ferrari-briatore\/","title":{"rendered":"Alonso still happy with Ferrari &#8211; Briatore"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Flavio Briatore has defended Fernando Alonso amid Ferrari&#8217;s current slump.<\/p>\n<p>After Shanghai, where the Spaniard bluntly assessed the &#8220;slow&#8221; 2011 car after being outperformed by his teammate Felipe Massa, La Stampa newspaper accused Alonso of being &#8220;unmotivated&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There was no trace of the fighter (in China),&#8221; said the Italian newspaper.<\/p>\n<p>Brazilian journalist Livio Oricchio added: &#8220;Alonso, the most complete driver, in my view, showed signs of being a bad loser.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Even Adrian Campos, a former manager of Alonso, told Spain&#8217;s SER radio: &#8220;In China had gave the impression of being very conservative, like he had said to himself just to bring the car home.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But the 29-year-old&#8217;s current manager Briatore told Italian television Sky Sport: &#8220;The driver is important but the car even more so.\u00a0 The problem with Ferrari is the car.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He denied Alonso is losing his motivation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Fernando wanted to be with Ferrari at any cost.\u00a0 He is more than satisfied and will do everything he can to get a more competitive Ferrari,&#8221; Briatore insisted.<\/p>\n<p>The flamboyant Italian said Maranello based Ferrari has the &#8220;equipment and resources&#8221; to improve its situation and is simply &#8220;missing a little creativity&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>But Campos, who founded the struggling HRT, said of Ferrari: &#8220;They seem to be lost, lacking in ideas.\u00a0 Once they were the reference but clearly no longer.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Flavio Briatore has defended Fernando Alonso amid Ferrari&#8217;s current slump.
