{"id":12359,"date":"2011-05-19T07:12:12","date_gmt":"2011-05-19T11:12:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=12359"},"modified":"2011-05-19T07:12:12","modified_gmt":"2011-05-19T11:12:12","slug":"red-bull-denies-breaking-in-season-test-ban","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/red-bull-denies-breaking-in-season-test-ban\/","title":{"rendered":"Red Bull denies breaking in-season test ban"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An initially innocuous &#8216;tweet&#8217; by a Swiss test driver has stirred up a controversy involving the championship-leading team Red Bull.<\/p>\n<p>Neel Jani wrote on his Twitter account this week that he &#8220;really worked my neck out&#8221; on Sunday during a 400 kilometre test at the wheel of the RB7.<\/p>\n<p>The test is believed to have taken place at the Idiada venue in Spain.<\/p>\n<p>The 27-year-old&#8217;s comment raised eyebrows because the only testing allowed during the season is to be conducted in a straight line, but Jani said his neck was twinged due to &#8220;high speed cornering&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The offending tweets have been deleted.<\/p>\n<p>A Red Bull spokesperson denied to f1fanatic.co.uk that Jani&#8217;s test broke the rules.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We did not complete high speed cornering and tested within the permitted regulations &#8212; which is an aero test carried out on FIA approved straight line or constant radius sites,&#8221; the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p>Red Bull also claimed Jani did not write the tweets himself.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An initially innocuous &#8216;tweet&#8217; by a Swiss test driver has stirred up a controversy involving the championship-leading team Red Bull.
