{"id":12365,"date":"2011-05-19T07:15:34","date_gmt":"2011-05-19T11:15:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=12365"},"modified":"2011-05-19T07:15:34","modified_gmt":"2011-05-19T11:15:34","slug":"ecclestone-scoffs-at-emotional-montezemolo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/ecclestone-scoffs-at-emotional-montezemolo\/","title":{"rendered":"Ecclestone scoffs at &#8217;emotional&#8217; Montezemolo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bernie Ecclestone has scoffed at Ferrari&#8217;s latest &#8216;breakaway&#8217; threat.<\/p>\n<p>Some days ago the famous Italian marque&#8217;s president Luca di Montezemolo warned that Ferrari and the other teams could walk away from the sport&#8217;s current owners CVC at the end of the 2012 Concorde Agreement.<\/p>\n<p>Asked about Montezemolo&#8217;s comments, F1 chief executive Ecclestone told Swiss newspaper Blick: &#8220;Oh yes, we all know Montezemolo&#8217;s emotional side.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But how often has Ferrari actually gone?&#8221; the Briton added.<\/p>\n<p>Ecclestone sounded confident about the future beyond the current commercial agreement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Forget the Concorde Agreement,&#8221; he said.\u00a0 &#8220;CVC bought formula one at a time when there was basically no Concorde Agreement and the manufacturers were threatening us with a rival series.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So it was the worst possible time to buy and yet CVC paid good money.\u00a0 Today the risk is even lower.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It has been suggested teams want their share of F1&#8217;s revenue pie to be increased from 50 per cent in the current Concorde to 70pc in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In the last five Concorde Agreements the teams wanted more money.\u00a0 There is no chance they&#8217;re getting 70 per cent,&#8221; said Ecclestone.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bernie Ecclestone has scoffed at Ferrari&#8217;s latest &#8216;breakaway&#8217; threat.
