{"id":12566,"date":"2011-05-29T21:25:23","date_gmt":"2011-05-30T01:25:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=12566"},"modified":"2011-05-29T21:25:23","modified_gmt":"2011-05-30T01:25:23","slug":"perez-in-doubt-for-canada-in-two-weeks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/perez-in-doubt-for-canada-in-two-weeks\/","title":{"rendered":"Perez in doubt for Canada in two weeks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sergio Perez&#8217;s participation in the Canadian grand prix in two weeks is in doubt.<\/p>\n<p>The Mexican rookie sat out Monaco on Sunday with concussion and a bruised thigh, after his high speed crash in Monaco qualifying on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>21-year-old Perez spent Saturday night in hospital and he will wake up again in the local Princess Gate on Monday morning for more tests.<\/p>\n<p>British broadcaster the BBC asked Sauber&#8217;s chief executive Monisha Kaltenborn if there is any danger Perez might also miss his first visit to Montreal.<\/p>\n<p>She said it is &#8220;fairly normal&#8221; that Perez is spending a second night in hospital.<\/p>\n<p>As for whether he might have to skip Canada, Kaltenborn added: &#8220;It&#8217;s too early to say that.\u00a0 We are confident but of course it all depends on the FIA doctor&#8217;s decision.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Added team boss Peter Sauber: &#8220;I hope we can start in Montreal with our regular driver pairing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Swiss team&#8217;s reserve driver is Perez&#8217;s fellow Mexican Esteban Gutierrez, the reigning GP3 champion.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I hope we can get back to normal in Montreal,&#8221; added Sauber technical director James Key.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sergio Perez&#8217;s participation in the Canadian grand prix in two weeks is in doubt.
