{"id":12770,"date":"2011-06-14T08:48:11","date_gmt":"2011-06-14T12:48:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=12770"},"modified":"2011-06-14T08:48:11","modified_gmt":"2011-06-14T12:48:11","slug":"team-lotus-to-use-williams-wind-tunnel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/team-lotus-to-use-williams-wind-tunnel\/","title":{"rendered":"Team Lotus to use Williams wind tunnel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Team Lotus will develop its formula one cars in one of Williams&#8217; two wind tunnels at the famous British team&#8217;s Grove headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>Williams is already supplying the rear end and gearbox to another of F1&#8217;s new 2010 entrants, Hispania.<\/p>\n<p>The deal announced on Monday will see Team Lotus expand its aerodynamics programme beyond the Aerolab facility in Italy, while the team develops its own tunnel at Hingham.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When that facility is operational all activity will be transferred to the team&#8217;s own site,&#8221; said Team Lotus in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Team boss Tony Fernandes&#8217; link with Williams was already strong following his former sponsorship of the Oxfordshire based team through his airline AirAsia.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I owe a great deal of thanks to Frank Williams, Patrick Head and Adam Parr as they were the first people I ever worked with in formula one,&#8221; he confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, it emerged in Canada over the weekend that Team Lotus has inked a new sponsorship deal with the famous computer chip maker Intel.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Team Lotus will develop its formula one cars in one of Williams&#8217; two wind tunnels at the famous British team&#8217;s Grove headquarters.
