{"id":12822,"date":"2011-06-17T01:16:41","date_gmt":"2011-06-17T05:16:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=12822"},"modified":"2011-06-16T22:18:05","modified_gmt":"2011-06-17T02:18:05","slug":"exhaust-clampdown-going-ahead-after-london-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/exhaust-clampdown-going-ahead-after-london-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"Exhaust clampdown going ahead after London meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The FIA is pressing ahead with its clampdown on blown exhaust technology following a meeting in London.<\/p>\n<p>The technical working group met with Charlie Whiting on Thursday where, despite some controversy, the FIA delegate told teams they will have to severely limit their off-throttle diffuser exhaust blowing from next month&#8217;s British grand prix.<\/p>\n<p>It is suggested pioneer Red Bull will be the team most affected by the ban, but Mercedes and Renault are also leaders in the field.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The degree that a team will be affected is dependent on how much they&#8217;re exploiting that technology,&#8221; Red Bull chief designer Rob Marshall told The Sun newspaper.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There are certainly some teams that are exploiting it very vigorously and some that aren&#8217;t exploiting it at all.\u00a0 Some will suffer more than others.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali is quoted by Italy&#8217;s Tuttosport: &#8220;After Silverstone it will be possible to express an opinion about our season.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All I can say is that I hope it (the clampdown) affects us less than others.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The FIA is pressing ahead with its clampdown on blown exhaust technology following a meeting in London.
