{"id":13527,"date":"2011-08-26T07:16:11","date_gmt":"2011-08-26T11:16:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=13527"},"modified":"2011-08-26T07:16:11","modified_gmt":"2011-08-26T11:16:11","slug":"2012-test-season-to-begin-february-7th-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/2012-test-season-to-begin-february-7th-report\/","title":{"rendered":"2012 test season to begin February 7th &#8211; report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just over two months after the 2011 season wraps up in Brazil, the pre-season test programme for next year&#8217;s world championship will commence.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s Auto Motor und Sport revealed that the first winter test will take place on 7 February at Jerez.<\/p>\n<p>There will be only two other winter tests, with a fourth test to take place during the 2012 race season.<\/p>\n<p>Valencia&#8217;s Ricardo Tormo permanent circuit will no longer be used as a winter venue, as its tight curves are not applicable to most of the tracks on the race calendar.<\/p>\n<p>After Jerez, two tests will take place in Barcelona before the circus moves to Australia for the first race in March.<\/p>\n<p>The mid-season test date and location are still being discussed.\u00a0 The three week gap between the Indian and Spanish grands prix is one possibility, while a test immediately after the Circuit de Catalunya race is also an option.<\/p>\n<p>Jerez, Silverstone and Mugello are also possible locations, with the latter the frontrunner due to owner Ferrari having the power to waive the rental fee.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just over two months after the 2011 season wraps up in Brazil, the pre-season test programme for next year&#8217;s world championship will commence.
