{"id":13556,"date":"2011-08-29T14:44:59","date_gmt":"2011-08-29T18:44:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=13556"},"modified":"2011-08-29T14:44:59","modified_gmt":"2011-08-29T18:44:59","slug":"ecclestone-has-agreed-to-francespa-alternation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/ecclestone-has-agreed-to-francespa-alternation\/","title":{"rendered":"Ecclestone &#8216;has agreed&#8217; to France\/Spa alternation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>France on Sunday made another clear step towards returning to the formula one calendar.<\/p>\n<p>The L&#8217;Equipe sports daily said race-day at Spa-Francorchamps was a &#8220;great day for French motor sport&#8221;, after Bernie Ecclestone apparently agreed to reinstate a French date on the 2013 calendar.<\/p>\n<p>The report said the plan is for France, probably with a race at the Ecclestone-linked Paul Ricard circuit, to alternate a single annual date with Spa.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have a contract until 2013,&#8221; said Belgian grand prix organiser Etienne Davignon, &#8220;and we feel that there is a strong tendency at present for an alternation (in future).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So we went to see who might be interested and we found a public interest group,&#8221; he added, referring to French prime minister Francois Fillon&#8217;s delegation.<\/p>\n<p>Davignon said on French TF1 television that the plan is &#8220;with the knowledge of the authorities&#8221;, and that Bernie Ecclestone &#8220;has agreed&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It looks like a concrete proposal,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>France on Sunday made another clear step towards returning to the formula one calendar.
