{"id":13821,"date":"2011-10-03T06:49:44","date_gmt":"2011-10-03T10:49:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=13821"},"modified":"2011-10-03T06:49:44","modified_gmt":"2011-10-03T10:49:44","slug":"midfield-teams-scrap-for-9-million-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/midfield-teams-scrap-for-9-million-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Midfield teams scrap for $9 million &#8211; report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sixth in formula one is not usually a sexy battle, but for three midfield teams in 2011 it is a hard-charging scrap for no less than $9 million.<\/p>\n<p>With five races to go this season, Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes and Renault are headed for the five highest positions in the constructors&#8217; championship.<\/p>\n<p>Behind them, Force India, Sauber and Toro Rosso are all separated by less than 20 points, and the ultimate prize is nearly $10 million according to the income distribution system of the Concorde Agreement, Germany&#8217;s Auto Motor und Sport reports.<\/p>\n<p>The report said Sauber have pushed forward developments of the 2012 C31 car to debut this weekend at Suzuka.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We will move heaven and hell for this sixth place,&#8221; said team boss Peter Sauber.<\/p>\n<p>At Toro Rosso, the Faenza based team has been doing more crash tests in order to debut new nose and sidepod developments as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have taken a step forward.\u00a0 I think we can try to attack Sauber and try to finish the championship in front of them,&#8221; Jaime Alguersuari told Marca sports newspaper.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sixth in formula one is not usually a sexy battle, but for three midfield teams in 2011 it is a hard-charging scrap for no less than $9 million.
