{"id":13916,"date":"2011-10-13T06:58:57","date_gmt":"2011-10-13T10:58:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=13916"},"modified":"2011-10-13T06:58:57","modified_gmt":"2011-10-13T10:58:57","slug":"f1-world-expecting-much-better-korea-gp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/f1-world-expecting-much-better-korea-gp\/","title":{"rendered":"F1 world expecting much better Korea GP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The F1 world can expect a much better experience at the Korean grand prix this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>When the barely-finished Yeongham venue hosted its inaugural race a year ago, officials, drivers, team members and journalists bemoaned the sub-standard facilities and organisation.<\/p>\n<p>Another bone of contention was the so-called &#8216;love motels&#8217; accommodation, normally frequented by prostitutes and their clients.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Last year, we had many difficult problems holding the very first Korean grand prix,&#8221; race chairman Park Joon-yung told the local JoongAng daily.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;However, based on the experience and knowledge we gained last year, I am confident that the event this year will be much improved.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The early reports from those checking into their hotels and arriving at the circuit this week is that the situation in Korea this year is vastly improved.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re hoping for a slightly easier race this year than last.\u00a0 2010 was very difficult for a number of reasons,&#8221; said FIA race director Charlie Whiting.<\/p>\n<p>The weather should also be much better this weekend, after torrential rain disrupted last October&#8217;s inaugural race.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The F1 world can expect a much better experience at the Korean grand prix this weekend.
