{"id":14004,"date":"2011-10-22T10:11:08","date_gmt":"2011-10-22T14:11:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=14004"},"modified":"2011-10-22T10:11:08","modified_gmt":"2011-10-22T14:11:08","slug":"liuzzi-not-ricciardo-to-sit-out-india","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/liuzzi-not-ricciardo-to-sit-out-india\/","title":{"rendered":"Liuzzi, not Ricciardo, to sit out India"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HRT on Saturday announced that it will be Vitantonio Liuzzi who sits out next weekend&#8217;s Indian grand prix.<\/p>\n<p>The Spanish team had already said Indian Narain Karthikeyan would return to the grid for his country&#8217;s inaugural formula one race.<\/p>\n<p>It was believed that Australian Daniel Ricciardo, who earlier this year replaced Karthikeyan due to a deal struck between HRT and Red Bull, would sit out India.<\/p>\n<p>Liuzzi&#8217;s manager said in September that the Italian has a firm contract for every race in 2011, with Ricciardo conceding that &#8220;at least I will be driving in the practice session&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>But HRT announced on Saturday: &#8220;Daniel Ricciardo will pair with the 34-year-old Indian driver for this single event.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Team boss Colin Kolles explained: &#8220;I have asked Tonio Liuzzi to step aside for the Indian GP in order to allow driving programmes with Ricciardo and Karthikeyan to be completed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have to thank Tonio for his professional approach and attitude.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HRT on Saturday announced that it will be Vitantonio Liuzzi who sits out next weekend&#8217;s Indian grand prix.
