{"id":14496,"date":"2011-12-03T09:32:50","date_gmt":"2011-12-03T14:32:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=14496"},"modified":"2011-12-03T09:34:24","modified_gmt":"2011-12-03T14:34:24","slug":"2012-mosport-major-event-schedule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/events-shows\/2012-mosport-major-event-schedule\/","title":{"rendered":"2012 Mosport Major Event Schedule"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two Fan Favourites Switch Dates<\/p>\n<p>Mosport International Raceway announced its 2012 major event schedule.\u00a0 The six-event line-up will once again feature the only Canadian stop for North America\u2019s premiere sports car championship \u2013 the American Le Mans Series as well as two rounds for both the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series including a move to Mosport\u2019s Victoria Day SpeedFest Weekend for their season opening round.<\/p>\n<p>The Victoria Day SpeedFest will get Mosport\u2019s 2011 season underway, May 18-20, with the thundering stock cars of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.\u00a0 Also in action for the unofficial kick-off to summer are fan favourites, the SCCA Pro Racing Trans Am Series, Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship, Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada and new to Mosport, the F1000 Pro Series.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Victoria Day SpeedFest Weekend has been a long standing tradition at Mosport as we get our racing season underway with one of the biggest camping weekends of the year,\u201d said Myles Brandt, President and General Manager of Mosport International Raceway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will give all new and returning Mosport customers their first look at <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/motorsports\/mosport-new-tunnel-between-corners-9-and-10\/\">the facility improvements<\/a><\/strong><\/em> that the new ownership group, consisting of Carlo Fidani, Al Boughton and Ron Fellows, have undertaken since the end of the 2011 season.
