{"id":14844,"date":"2012-01-09T06:49:30","date_gmt":"2012-01-09T11:49:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=14844"},"modified":"2012-01-09T06:49:30","modified_gmt":"2012-01-09T11:49:30","slug":"2012-force-india-passes-fia-crash-tests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/2012-force-india-passes-fia-crash-tests\/","title":{"rendered":"2012 Force India passes FIA crash tests"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Force India&#8217;s 2012 car is scheduled to make its debut at the opening test of the pre-season at Jerez early next month.<\/p>\n<p>Technical director Andrew Green revealed that the Mercedes-powered VJM05 has successfully passed the mandatory FIA crash tests.<\/p>\n<p>For the first time from 2012, teams must meet the governing body&#8217;s requirements before their new cars can be run at the official winter tests.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s been a little bit tougher this year,&#8221; Green said, &#8220;so there was a little bit of extra planning involved to get that sorted.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The chassis has been homologated since December,&#8221; he revealed.<\/p>\n<p>Force India finished the 2011 championship in sixth place, behind Renault\/Lotus and the four biggest teams.<\/p>\n<p>Driver Paul di Resta said he is expecting more for his second F1 season in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It will be difficult but we have got ourselves prepared for a podium,&#8221; he told the Express newspaper.<\/p>\n<p>The Jerez test kicks off on February 7.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Force India&#8217;s 2012 car is scheduled to make its debut at the opening test of the pre-season at Jerez early next month.
