{"id":15066,"date":"2012-01-30T06:55:42","date_gmt":"2012-01-30T11:55:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=15066"},"modified":"2012-01-30T06:55:42","modified_gmt":"2012-01-30T11:55:42","slug":"force-india-can-be-like-red-bull-mallya","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/force-india-can-be-like-red-bull-mallya\/","title":{"rendered":"Force India can be like Red Bull &#8211; Mallya"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Force India&#8217;s new investor Subrata Roy wants the Silverstone based team to be like Red Bull.<\/p>\n<p>That is the claim of fellow Indian billionaire Dr Vijay Mallya, who with title sponsor Sahara&#8217;s Roy co-owns the team.<\/p>\n<p>Mallya bought the former Jordan team some years ago when it was known as Spyker and finishing grands prix in last place.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Indian people are proud that we have been able to create a team for the country to play an important role in formula one.\u00a0 Without our success we have attracted a larger group of supporters,&#8221; he told Auto Motor und Sport.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Now it&#8217;s getting difficult to meet the demands,&#8221; Mallya told the German magazine, after Force India finished the 2011 season sixth behind Renault and the four top teams.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The people of India expect us to beat Mercedes now,&#8221; he admitted.<\/p>\n<p>If Force India can do that, is the sort of success achieved by Red Bull &#8211; another non-carmaker team &#8211; a realistic target?<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Why not?&#8221; answered Mallya.\u00a0 &#8220;Subrata Roy&#8217;s vision is to be as good as Red Bull but he&#8217;s so excited that I have to stop him a bit.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There are no short-cuts in formula one.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Force India&#8217;s new investor Subrata Roy wants the Silverstone based team to be like Red Bull.
