{"id":15920,"date":"2012-04-30T09:03:31","date_gmt":"2012-04-30T13:03:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=15920"},"modified":"2012-04-30T09:03:31","modified_gmt":"2012-04-30T13:03:31","slug":"sauber-confirms-chelsea-sponsor-rumour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/sauber-confirms-chelsea-sponsor-rumour\/","title":{"rendered":"Sauber confirms Chelsea sponsor rumour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rumours that a top English premier league football club is entering formula one as a sponsor have proved correct.<\/p>\n<p>Ever since Sauber has been running teaser &#8216;Out of the blue&#8217; and &#8216;True blue&#8217; graphics on its engine cover livery in China and Bahrain, speculation about the identity of the forthcoming sponsor have been swirling in the F1 paddock.<\/p>\n<p>We reported the rumour that the deal could be with the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, to promote his football club Chelsea.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-left alignleft\" style=\"margin: 5px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/gallery\/f1-2012-rif-images\/f1-12-logos\/Sauber-F1.jpg\" alt=\"Sauber-F1\" width=\"216\" height=\"86\" \/>Swiss F1 team Sauber confirmed the &#8220;new and innovative partnership&#8221; on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The C31 sporting the blue logo of Chelsea FC will be seen for the first time at the Spanish grand prix,&#8221; the Hinwil based team announced in a media statement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A partnership like this between formula one and football has never existed before in this form, yet there are numerous commonalities and possible synergies,&#8221; said Sauber chief executive Monisha Kaltenborn.<\/p>\n<p>The statement said Chelsea will in turn display Sauber&#8217;s logo on its advertising boards and interview walls, ensuring one another &#8220;a significant market presence outside their original sport&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a0\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rumours that a top English premier league football club is entering formula one as a sponsor have proved correct.
