The Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada<\/strong><\/em><\/a> will hold its annual event at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park<\/strong><\/em><\/a> from June 15 to 17, 2012 on the Mosport Grand Prix Circuit \u2013 Canada\u2019s Home of Motorsport.\u00a0 Participating racers from across Canada and the US will converge on the Toronto area track to compete in three days of racing in six race groups:<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Group 1 – Monoposto \u2013 Vintage and Historic open-wheel race cars<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Group 2 \u2013 Vintage Sports Cars \u2013 Pre \u201862<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Group 3 \u2013 Historic Sports Cars \u2013 \u201962 to \u201872<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Group 4 \u2013 Classic Sedans \u2013 to \u201872<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Group 5 \u2013 Wings & Slicks \u2013 Open Wheel Formula Cars & Sports Racers running on slicks<\/p>\n

Join us this coming weekend June 15-17 for a car enthusiast\u2019s dream weekend.\u00a0 There will be fabulous racing action with 200 vintage and historic cars in six race groups battling for the honour of a sharing the podium and receiving trophies from Canadian Racing Greats, Eppie Wiezes, Ludwig Heimrath, Bill Brack, Craig Fisher, Gary Magwood and Walt MacKay.<\/p>\n

And there is more!\u00a0 Bring your classic car out on the evening of Friday June 15th to the \u201cCheckered Flag Cruise\u201d to be held right on the Start\/Finish Straight \u2013 walk where championships have been decided and the world\u2019s greatest drivers have taken the Checkered Flag.\u00a0 The Cruise will start at 6pm and the entry is free with a $5 donation per car to Wounded Warriors of Canada.\u00a0 The Cruise will combine Hot-Rods and Muscle Cars with Sports Cars and Race Cars.\u00a0 In addition to witnessing this fantastic Cruise Event, attendees will have the opportunity to explore the paddocks and see what a great spectacle the VARAC \u2013 Canadian Historic Grand Prix presents. Souvenir Dash Plaques will be provided to all cars entering the Cruise.<\/p>\n

Saturday June 16th features the Wilson-Niblett Hillfest Corvette Gathering with 200 Corvettes attending to honour this year\u2019s featured marque of Corvette \u2013 America\u2019s Sportscar in its 60th year of production.<\/p>\n

Eppie Wietzes, who won two Trans-Am Championships driving Corvettes will be the Grand Marshal for this year\u2019s Canadian Historic Grand Prix.\u00a0 Eppie will also present the \u201cEppie Wietzes Trophy\u201d to the winners of the All-Corvette Feature Race on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Sunday June 17th morning from 10am to 11:30, \u201cThe Great Canadian Racers Reunion\u201d takes place in the marquee tent welcoming anyone involved in racing over the years to come out and meet old friends and celebrate racing at Mosport, Canada\u2019s Home of Motorsport.\u00a0 Gary Magwood, Canadian Racing Champion hosts \u201cThe Legends of Mosport\u201d and welcomes our greatest drivers to a \u201cMeet the Press and Fans Panel\u201d in the Marquee Tent.\u00a0 So, come out and hear what these Champions who formed Canadian racing have to say.<\/p>\n

The \u201cPartSource Field of Dreams Car Show\u201d also takes place on Sunday Morning from 9am on the infield at Corner 8.\u00a0 A special admission rate of $20 per car applies to those coming in for the day and entering the Car Show.\u00a0 Souvenir Dash Plaques will be provided to all cars entering the Car Show.\u00a0 The noon-hour parade laps are an annual feature.\u00a0 We will continue that tradition this year by offering Car Show attendees the opportunity to register on-site for the \u201cDream Laps\u201d with a donation of $10 to the Wounded Warriors of Canada will be required and special Souvenir Windscreen Stickers will be provided to entrants.<\/p>\n

With all of this racing action and the variety of ways to participate, you won\u2019t want to miss THE GREATEST SHOW ON TARMAC!<\/p>\n
