{"id":16611,"date":"2012-09-14T08:00:30","date_gmt":"2012-09-14T12:00:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=16611"},"modified":"2012-09-14T07:53:58","modified_gmt":"2012-09-14T11:53:58","slug":"brawn-not-planning-to-retire-yet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/brawn-not-planning-to-retire-yet\/","title":{"rendered":"Brawn not planning to retire yet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ross Brawn has revealed he is not planning to retire for at least a few more years.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-left alignright\" style=\"margin: 5px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/gallery\/f1-2012-rif-images\/f1-12-people\/Ross-Brown-5.jpg\" alt=\"Ross-Brown-5\" width=\"384\" height=\"256\" \/>The 57-year-old, who soared to success in past decades as a leading engineer at Benetton and Ferrari, is now the team boss at Mercedes, three years after selling the title-winning &#8216;Brawn GP&#8217; outfit in 2009.<\/p>\n<p>And amid rumours Lewis Hamilton could switch to the Brackley based camp for 2013, Brawn has told the Daily Mail he is not going anywhere for now.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am not planning to retire at the moment,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Also being reported at present is that Michael Schumacher could be close to signing a new at least one-year contract extension for 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Brawn said he is motivated by F1&#8217;s switch to radical new engine rules in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am very excited about this 2014 engine programme,&#8221; he said.\u00a0 &#8220;I think it is quite a game-changer in F1.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I still have a strong engineering passion, so having such a different engine and different package in 2014 is exciting and developing the team is exciting.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For how long, who knows?\u00a0 But I have no interest in stopping in the near future.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ross Brawn has revealed he is not planning to retire for at least a few more years.
