{"id":17047,"date":"2012-11-13T07:03:35","date_gmt":"2012-11-13T12:03:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=17047"},"modified":"2012-11-13T07:03:35","modified_gmt":"2012-11-13T12:03:35","slug":"2012-finale-could-be-title-fizzer-webber","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/2012-finale-could-be-title-fizzer-webber\/","title":{"rendered":"2012 finale could be title fizzer &#8211; Webber"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mark Webber has warned that the 2012 championship finale may not be as spectacular as some are expecting.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-left alignleft\" style=\"margin: 5px 10px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/gallery\/f1-2012-rif-images\/f1-12-drivers\/Mark-Webber-3.jpg\" alt=\"Mark-Webber-3\" width=\"384\" height=\"256\" \/>The Australian&#8217;s Red Bull teammate Sebastian Vettel, and Ferrari&#8217;s Fernando Alonso, are separated by just 10 points with only the Austin and Brazil races now to come.<\/p>\n<p>But Webber told WA Today: &#8220;They may not even see each other on-track &#8212; that&#8217;s the way it turns out sometimes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a bit like an FA Cup final or the rugby league grand final &#8212; sometimes it doesn&#8217;t live up to the hype.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, while Ferrari is pushing hard to improve its F2012, the latest rumour is that upgrades tested at Idiada recently failed to deliver the expected speed boost.<\/p>\n<p>Even Felipe Massa admits Red Bull is the favourite going into this weekend&#8217;s US grand prix.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a new track, and I might be wrong,&#8221; he told Brazilian reporters this week, &#8220;but from what I&#8217;ve seen on the simulator, it&#8217;s similar to Korea and India.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We were reasonably competitive on those two circuits, but Red Bull was very strong,&#8221; said Alonso&#8217;s Ferrari teammate.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mark Webber has warned that the 2012 championship finale may not be as spectacular as some are expecting.
