{"id":17948,"date":"2013-03-08T07:11:53","date_gmt":"2013-03-08T12:11:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=17948"},"modified":"2013-03-08T07:11:53","modified_gmt":"2013-03-08T12:11:53","slug":"new-jersey-back-on-track-for-2014-promoter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/new-jersey-back-on-track-for-2014-promoter\/","title":{"rendered":"New Jersey back on track for 2014 &#8211; promoter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New Jersey is back on track for a grand prix in 2014, promoter Leo Hindery has announced.<\/p>\n<p>The Manhattan-skyline street race was due to make its debut on this year&#8217;s calendar, but the organisers fell behind on road repairs and obtaining event permits.<\/p>\n<p>Hindery told Sports Business Daily: &#8220;I think that Bernie (Ecclestone) made absolutely the right decision (to delay).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But he added: &#8220;We are back under construction.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have the consents in place that we didn&#8217;t have last fall, and we will quite comfortably put the race on, now probably in the mid-year of 2014 with (Ecclestone&#8217;s) support.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>F1 chief executive Ecclestone, however, indicated that New Jersey&#8217;s problems were not only to do with approvals, or the repair and asphalting of the roads.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a problem for the people that started this, and I think it&#8217;s basically a financial problem,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Jersey is back on track for a grand prix in 2014, promoter Leo Hindery has announced.
