{"id":18172,"date":"2013-04-30T07:12:01","date_gmt":"2013-04-30T11:12:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=18172"},"modified":"2013-04-30T07:12:01","modified_gmt":"2013-04-30T11:12:01","slug":"2014-return-for-valencia-again-in-doubt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/2014-return-for-valencia-again-in-doubt\/","title":{"rendered":"2014 return for Valencia again in doubt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Valencia&#8217;s mooted return to the formula one calendar next year is now under a dark cloud.<\/p>\n<p>We reported earlier this month that the Spanish port city &#8211; absent from this year&#8217;s schedule &#8211; could be back in 2014, after its president Alberto Fabra met with Bernie Ecclestone in February.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The agreement is (now) awaiting the signature of the Catalan president Artur Mas,&#8221; wrote journalist Pedro Blasco, referring to a deal that would see Valencia annually alternate with Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>But, whilst not completely ruling out an alternation, Mas said the Circuit de Catalunya is willing to continue to organise the Spanish grand prix each year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are able to fulfil the contract that we signed,&#8221; he is quoted by El Mundo Deportivo newspaper.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Since more than a year ago, when I spoke of an alternation, we have worked very hard and we are able to take on the challenge of organising the race every year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mas said the issue is likely to be discussed further next weekend, when Barcelona hosts the 2013 Spanish grand prix.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Valencia&#8217;s mooted return to the formula one calendar next year is now under a dark cloud.
