{"id":18516,"date":"2013-06-13T06:59:52","date_gmt":"2013-06-13T10:59:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=18516"},"modified":"2013-06-13T06:59:52","modified_gmt":"2013-06-13T10:59:52","slug":"infiniti-to-help-develop-red-bulls-engine-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/infiniti-to-help-develop-red-bulls-engine-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Infiniti to help develop Red Bull&#8217;s engine &#8211; report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Luxury Nissan division Infiniti, Red Bull&#8217;s title sponsor, will get involved in the actual development of the world champion team&#8217;s &#8216;power unit&#8217; next year, it is rumoured.<\/p>\n<p>We reported recently that Red Bull&#8217;s &#8216;works&#8217; Renault engines will be branded &#8216;Infiniti&#8217; for the start of the turbo V6 era next year.<\/p>\n<p>Red Bull denied the story, but those rumours have now resurfaced.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Renault V6 in the 2014 Red Bull will not only be called Infiniti,&#8221; said Germany&#8217;s Auto Motor und Sport.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Infiniti&#8217;s technology will also be in the package.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Japanese want to participate in the development of the hybrid elements,&#8221; the report added.<\/p>\n<p>With the rumoured arrival of Infiniti branding at Red Bull, it was believed Renault would pick a new team to position as its premium &#8216;powered by Renault&#8217; partner.<\/p>\n<p>The early favourite was Williams, who were asking Renault for a contribution to their budget.<\/p>\n<p>But Auto Motor und Sport reports that Red Bull vetoed that plan, demanding that all of Renault&#8217;s budget go instead into developing the V6 engine.<\/p>\n<p>Williams then signed to switch to Mercedes for 2014 and beyond.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Luxury Nissan division Infiniti, Red Bull&#8217;s title sponsor, will get involved in the actual development of the world champion team&#8217;s &#8216;power unit&#8217; next year, it is rumoured.
