{"id":19483,"date":"2013-10-04T07:03:26","date_gmt":"2013-10-04T11:03:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=19483"},"modified":"2013-10-04T07:03:26","modified_gmt":"2013-10-04T11:03:26","slug":"sauber-closing-on-2014-ferrari-engine-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/sauber-closing-on-2014-ferrari-engine-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"Sauber closing on 2014 Ferrari engine deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sauber is close to reaching a deal to stay with Ferrari power beyond this season.<\/p>\n<p>The Swiss team has had a troubled 2013, but boss Monisha Kaltenborn says money from the Russian rescue deal has begun to flow.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, Russian teen Sergey Sirotkin&#8217;s quest for a super license is set to begin at the wheel of an older Ferrari at the Italian team&#8217;s Fiorano track.<\/p>\n<p>The next step is a new Ferrari deal for Sauber, as F1 moves from the current V8 rules to the new turbo V6 era.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think it is obvious to everyone in what direction we are moving in the negotiations about the engine,&#8221; Kaltenborn is quoted by Russia&#8217;s Championat.<\/p>\n<p>It is believed the deal has been held up by Sauber&#8217;s financial troubles this year, in which Ferrari reportedly went unpaid.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We had to resolve some issues,&#8221; Kaltenborn revealed, &#8220;and most of them have been settled now.\u00a0 So I think we will have an announcement soon.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sauber is close to reaching a deal to stay with Ferrari power beyond this season.
