{"id":19487,"date":"2013-10-05T10:06:39","date_gmt":"2013-10-05T14:06:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=19487"},"modified":"2013-10-05T10:06:39","modified_gmt":"2013-10-05T14:06:39","slug":"f1-in-korea-for-last-time-vettel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/f1-in-korea-for-last-time-vettel\/","title":{"rendered":"F1 in Korea for &#8216;last time&#8217; &#8211; Vettel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to Sebastian Vettel, Sunday&#8217;s grand prix will be the fourth and last in South Korea.<\/p>\n<p>The unpopular race at remote Yeongam has been given a provisional date on the huge 22-race 2014 calendar.<\/p>\n<p>But &#8220;I have heard that we are here for the last time,&#8221; world champion Vettel, who is famously close to F1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone, is quoted by DPA news agency.<\/p>\n<p>A banner at the entrance of the paddock at the circuit this weekend reads: &#8220;Thank you Mr Ecclestone for 2013 F1 Korean grand prix&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Race promoter Won-Hwa Park, however, insisted Korea&#8217;s F1 dream is not over yet.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are still negotiating with Mr Ecclestone,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The organisers wanting a reduced race fee for 2014 and beyond &#8212; something Ecclestone is unlikely to agree to.<\/p>\n<p>Sauber team boss Monisha Kaltenborn hopes the provisional 2014 calendar does shed a few races.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;More than 20 is just too much,&#8221; she told Die Welt newspaper.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With the structure of the teams at the moment, it (22 races) is not possible.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to Sebastian Vettel, Sunday&#8217;s grand prix will be the fourth and last in South Korea.
