{"id":19626,"date":"2013-10-18T07:02:12","date_gmt":"2013-10-18T11:02:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=19626"},"modified":"2013-10-18T07:02:12","modified_gmt":"2013-10-18T11:02:12","slug":"ecclestone-to-give-valencia-barriers-to-new-jersey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/ecclestone-to-give-valencia-barriers-to-new-jersey\/","title":{"rendered":"Ecclestone to give Valencia barriers to New Jersey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bernie Ecclestone is reportedly using the demise of Valencia&#8217;s F1 project to give organisers of next year&#8217;s provisional New Jersey race a boost.<\/p>\n<p>We reported this week that F1 chief executive Ecclestone has agreed to terminate Valencia&#8217;s contract without financially penalising the Spanish hosts.<\/p>\n<p>It means the Valencian government is avoiding a reported EUR 54 million in break costs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What we have agreed,&#8221; said president Alberto Fabra, &#8220;is that we will not use any equipment in other circuits.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Spanish sports newspaper Marca has now revealed more details of Ecclestone&#8217;s termination deal with Valencia.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Everything in formula one has a price,&#8221; wrote correspondent Paul Juanarena.<\/p>\n<p>He said Ecclestone has negotiated to take possession of Valencia&#8217;s street circuit equipment, including more than 10 kilometres of fencing and barriers, worth several million euros.<\/p>\n<p>The beneficiary, Juanarena explained, would be organisers of the financially-pressed inaugural New Jersey grand prix, whose place on the 2014 calendar is conditional upon &#8220;circuit approval&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bernie Ecclestone is reportedly using the demise of Valencia&#8217;s F1 project to give organisers of next year&#8217;s provisional New Jersey race a boost.
