{"id":20567,"date":"2013-12-17T07:08:39","date_gmt":"2013-12-17T12:08:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=20567"},"modified":"2013-12-17T07:08:39","modified_gmt":"2013-12-17T12:08:39","slug":"vw-audi-porsche-play-down-f1-rumours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/vw-audi-porsche-play-down-f1-rumours\/","title":{"rendered":"VW, Audi, Porsche play down F1 rumours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Volkswagen, and its major motor sport-linked brands, have denied the latest round of speculation connecting the German marque with a potential formula one foray.<\/p>\n<p>The FIA revealed last week that it is seeking a twelfth team to fill the last spot on the 2015 or 2016 grids.<\/p>\n<p>Volkswagen, and its Audi and Porsche brands, is regularly linked with a potential F1 foray, so it was speculated one of them might be interested in the FIA&#8217;s new opening.<\/p>\n<p>F1&#8217;s governing body has said expressions of interest for the final place will close on 3 January, with a decision to be made at the end of February.<\/p>\n<p>But Stefan Moser, VW&#8217;s communications boss, told Speed Week: &#8220;There are no plans for us to go into formula one.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Moser&#8217;s counterpart, Jurgen Pippig, added that Audi is also content with its existing programmes, including Le Mans and DTM.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That is what we are focused on.\u00a0 We have no formula one plans.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And Oliver Hilger said: &#8220;In 2014, Porsche has the biggest factory motor sport programme in its history.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have no plans to enter formula one.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Volkswagen, and its major motor sport-linked brands, have denied the latest round of speculation connecting the German marque with a potential formula one foray.
