{"id":21116,"date":"2014-02-27T07:13:21","date_gmt":"2014-02-27T12:13:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=21116"},"modified":"2014-02-27T07:13:21","modified_gmt":"2014-02-27T12:13:21","slug":"cosworth-not-ruling-out-f1-return","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/cosworth-not-ruling-out-f1-return\/","title":{"rendered":"Cosworth not ruling out F1 return"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cosworth is not ruling out a return to formula one.<\/p>\n<p>As the sport prepared for the all-new and even more expensive turbo V6 era, the independent British outfit found itself without a customer for 2014.<\/p>\n<p>But it emerged last week that Cosworth nonetheless completed an engine design for the new rules, even though it will not be built and raced this year.<\/p>\n<p>America&#8217;s premier open-wheel category also runs turbo V6 engines, and Cosworth chief executive Hal Reisiger said the marque is &#8220;committed&#8221; to finding an Indycar partner.<\/p>\n<p>As for returning to F1, he told NBC Sports that Cosworth only abandoned its 2014 project because &#8220;there wasn&#8217;t a team or teams plural that were willing to sponsor the development&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>But Reisiger admitted that if current or subsequent talks with teams came to fruition, &#8220;Absolutely we would&#8221; want to return to formula one.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think that we provide a very cost effective solution for people to be on the grid,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;d look forward to the right opportunity if we could find the right collaboration.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cosworth is not ruling out a return to formula one.
