{"id":21280,"date":"2014-03-16T11:18:57","date_gmt":"2014-03-16T15:18:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=21280"},"modified":"2014-03-16T11:18:57","modified_gmt":"2014-03-16T15:18:57","slug":"red-bull-to-appeal-ricciardo-exclusion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/red-bull-to-appeal-ricciardo-exclusion\/","title":{"rendered":"Red Bull to appeal Ricciardo exclusion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Under pitch black skies in Melbourne, FIA stewards took away Daniel Ricciardo&#8217;s popular second place finish.<\/p>\n<p>Hours after the chequered flag waved and the champagne flowed, the Australian&#8217;s Red Bull was ruled to have breached the new regulation governing a maximum rate for the flow of fuel.<\/p>\n<p>The reigning world champions argued that there have been &#8220;inconsistencies with the FIA fuel flow meter &#8230; all weekend up and down the pitlane&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Britain&#8217;s Daily Mail reported that Red Bull therefore decided to use its own sensor, but the FIA insisted the team cannot do that &#8220;without the permission of the FIA&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Race director Charlie Whiting reportedly warned Red Bull about illegal fuel flow readings throughout the weekend at Albert Park and also during the race.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The team chose not to make this correction,&#8221; read the stewards ruling.<\/p>\n<p>Red Bull said it will appeal Ricciardo&#8217;s disqualification.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The team and Renault are confident the fuel supplied to the engine is in full compliance with the regulations,&#8221; Red Bull said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Under pitch black skies in Melbourne, FIA stewards took away Daniel Ricciardo&#8217;s popular second place finish.
