{"id":21341,"date":"2014-03-24T07:08:53","date_gmt":"2014-03-24T11:08:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=21341"},"modified":"2014-03-24T21:56:21","modified_gmt":"2014-03-25T01:56:21","slug":"todt-urges-domenicali-to-ignore-criticism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/todt-urges-domenicali-to-ignore-criticism\/","title":{"rendered":"Todt urges Domenicali to ignore criticism"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jean Todt has urged his Ferrari successor to buck the criticism and keep pushing Ferrari to the front in formula one.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-left alignleft\" style=\"margin: 5px 10px;\" alt=\"Jean-Todt-4\" src=\"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/gallery\/f1-2014-rif-images\/f1-2014-persons\/Jean-Todt-4.jpg\" width=\"384\" height=\"256\" \/>Before Todt &#8211; currently the FIA president &#8211; handed over Maranello&#8217;s reigns to Stefano Domenicali, he guided the Italian team to six drivers&#8217; titles; five with Michael Schumacher and Kimi Raikkonen&#8217;s in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, in Domenicali&#8217;s reign, Ferrari has failed to win a title and the new turbo V6 era has got off to a shaky start with a mere fourth for Fernando Alonso in Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>But Todt urged Domenicali, 48, to ignore the criticism.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I was always criticised,&#8221; Frenchman Todt said, &#8220;even when we won a lot.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They criticised us for winning too much and making the championship boring,&#8221; he reportedly told the Italian broadcaster Rai.<\/p>\n<p>Todt said Ferrari has usually been competitive during the Domenicali years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In the past years Ferrari was always one of the protagonists even if they did not win a championship, but I am sure they will again.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All I would say to Domenicali is that he should keep his feet on the ground and his focus on the real problems, not on what others are saying,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jean Todt has urged his Ferrari successor to buck the criticism and keep pushing Ferrari to the front in formula one.
