{"id":21878,"date":"2014-05-10T07:23:32","date_gmt":"2014-05-10T11:23:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=21878"},"modified":"2014-05-10T07:23:32","modified_gmt":"2014-05-10T11:23:32","slug":"lotus-isolated-as-non-paying-renault-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/lotus-isolated-as-non-paying-renault-team\/","title":{"rendered":"Lotus isolated as non-paying Renault team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lotus has been left isolated after supplier Renault complained about unpaid engine bills.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in Barcelona, Renault chief Jean-Michel Jalinier warned that some of the French marque&#8217;s F1 customers could soon have their turbo V6s turned off.<\/p>\n<p>Jalinier did not name the delinquent teams, but Lotus&#8217; struggle to pay drivers and suppliers in 2013 was widely known.<\/p>\n<p>Red Bull is Renault&#8217;s de-facto &#8216;works&#8217; team, so it is unlikely Jalinier was referring to the reigning world champions.<\/p>\n<p>And the boss of the other Red Bull-owned team, Toro Rosso&#8217;s Franz Tost, said on Friday: &#8220;As far as I&#8217;m aware, we have paid everything.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The only other Renault-powered teams in 2014 are Lotus and backmarker Caterham.<\/p>\n<p>Caterham team boss Cyril Abiteboul said: &#8220;It&#8217;s a confidential issue but I&#8217;m happy since I&#8217;m on time to say that we are settled with invoices with Renault Sport F1.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Lotus is yet to comment.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lotus has been left isolated after supplier Renault complained about unpaid engine bills.
