{"id":22429,"date":"2014-07-02T06:52:59","date_gmt":"2014-07-02T10:52:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=22429"},"modified":"2014-07-02T06:52:59","modified_gmt":"2014-07-02T10:52:59","slug":"kolles-bringing-albers-as-new-caterham-boss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/kolles-bringing-albers-as-new-caterham-boss\/","title":{"rendered":"Kolles bringing Albers as new Caterham boss"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A former F1 driver is returning to the sport &#8212; as a team boss.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, we reported that Colin Kolles, the former Force India and HRT chief, is set to replace the Renault-bound Cyril Abiteboul at Caterham as the struggling backmarker team changes hands.<\/p>\n<p>But Germany&#8217;s Sport Bild on Wednesday reports that an interesting character is coming with Kolles &#8212; former Minardi driver and Dutchman Christijan Albers.<\/p>\n<p>Albers, now 35, raced under Kolles&#8217; leadership at the pre-Force India team guises of Midland and Spyker.<\/p>\n<p>Albers has also driven for Kolles in DTM and, most recently, in sports cars.<\/p>\n<p>But he is not making an F1 driving comeback.\u00a0 Correspondent Bianca Garloff claims Albers will in fact be a boss of the Caterham team.<\/p>\n<p>The Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf has the same story on Wednesday, claiming Albers will be Caterham&#8217;s F1 chief executive.<\/p>\n<p>It will be announced, the report said, in the &#8220;coming days&#8221;, with Albers having already visited Caterham&#8217;s Leafield factory on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Caterham has not commented.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A former F1 driver is returning to the sport &#8212; as a team boss.
