{"id":22600,"date":"2014-07-17T07:07:14","date_gmt":"2014-07-17T11:07:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=22600"},"modified":"2014-07-17T07:07:14","modified_gmt":"2014-07-17T11:07:14","slug":"todt-open-to-improving-new-f1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/todt-open-to-improving-new-f1\/","title":{"rendered":"Todt open to improving &#8216;new&#8217; F1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jean Todt has revealed he is prepared to listen to any proposals to revise formula one&#8217;s rules.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-left alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/gallery\/f1-2014-rif-images\/f1-2014-persons\/Jean-Todt-2.jpg\" alt=\"Jean-Todt-2\" width=\"452\" height=\"301\" \/>Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has been arguably the harshest critic of the sport&#8217;s &#8216;new&#8217; era, but FIA president Todt insists F1 was right to bring in the greener, quieter V6 engines.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was the right way to go,&#8221; Frenchman Todt told Italy&#8217;s La Gazzetta dello Sport, &#8220;but so far we were not able to communicate it well.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But the future of formula one is in this direction,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In formula one there is now this search for the highest efficiency with the least amount of fuel in the tank but going as fast as possible,&#8221; said Todt.<\/p>\n<p>He denied claims the &#8216;new&#8217; F1 is fundamentally flawed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Just look at what Dietrich Mateschitz has done, awakening the enthusiasm of the people in Austria,&#8221; said Todt.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, however, he declared he is &#8220;open to proposals for the improvement&#8221; of the sport as it steps into the future.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m going to the sponsors, media, new media, organisers, drivers of today and yesterday and the designers to bring to the table all the most interesting ideas,&#8221; said Todt.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jean Todt has revealed he is prepared to listen to any proposals to revise formula one&#8217;s rules.
