{"id":2546,"date":"2010-02-18T17:43:52","date_gmt":"2010-02-18T22:43:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=2546"},"modified":"2010-02-19T17:50:57","modified_gmt":"2010-02-19T22:50:57","slug":"extreme-speed-motorsports-announces-drivers-for-sebring-and-petit-le-mans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/alms\/extreme-speed-motorsports-announces-drivers-for-sebring-and-petit-le-mans\/","title":{"rendered":"Extreme Speed Motorsports announces drivers for Sebring and Petit Le Mans"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Farnbacher, Barbosa join new ESM team for endurance rounds<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Extreme Speed Motorsports, the new race team created and owned by veteran race car driver Scott Sharp, announced today that Joao Barbosa and Dominik Farnbacher will join the team for next month\u2019s 58th running of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida, and Road Atlanta\u2019s Petit Le Mans later this year.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Barbosa, who won the 24 Hours of Daytona title last month, will compete with Extreme Speed Motorsports drivers Ed Brown and Guy Cosmo in one of the team\u2019s Ferrari F430 GTCs, in the American Le Mans Series\u2019 GT2 class. Farnbacher, a four-time winner in the Series driving an F430 GT, will join Sharp and Johannes van Overbeek in the team\u2019s other entry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m thrilled to welcome Joao and Dominik to the Extreme Speed Motorsports team,\u201d said Sharp, last year\u2019s LMP1 Series co-champion. \u201cBoth of them are experienced and fast drivers, and know what it takes to navigate the track and get to the end of a major endurance race.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Added Barbosa, \u201cI\u2019m very excited to be a part of the Extreme Speed Motorsports team. They welcomed me with open arms and are as ecstatic as I am for this new challenge. I\u2019m looking forward to driving at Sebring again \u2013 I love this race and the level of competition is very high in GT2. It will definitely be a great race!\u201d<br \/>\nThose sentiments were also echoed by Farnbacher who commented, \u201cI\u2019m very glad to be back for two American Le Mans Series races this year, in Sebring and Road Atlanta.
