{"id":33410,"date":"2016-03-31T20:06:41","date_gmt":"2016-04-01T00:06:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=33410"},"modified":"2016-03-31T20:06:41","modified_gmt":"2016-04-01T00:06:41","slug":"drivers-eye-spot-on-f1-commission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/drivers-eye-spot-on-f1-commission\/","title":{"rendered":"Drivers eye spot on F1 Commission"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>F1 drivers may be angling for a spot on the sport&#8217;s decision-making body.<\/p>\n<p>Grand Prix Drivers&#8217; Association (GPDA) chief Alex Wurz has been coy when asked what the next step &#8211; like race boycotts &#8211; might be after the revelation of the highly-critical open letter about F1&#8217;s governance.<\/p>\n<p>The active drivers in the FIA press conference in Bahrain on Thursday were also coy when it comes to the future, with Nico Rosberg saying only: &#8220;It&#8217;s early days.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a process.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In the paddock, Force India driver Nico Hulkenberg told reporters: &#8220;I am not in the GPDA, but I welcome the letter.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think the drivers should be more involved in the decision-making process.\u00a0 For example, I see no reason why there should not be a driver on the F1 Commission.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The F1 Commission, an intermediary body between the strategy group and the FIA&#8217;s World Motor Sport Council, is comprised of most of the sport&#8217;s stakeholders including sponsors, promoters and the tyre supplier.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>F1 drivers may be angling for a spot on the sport&#8217;s decision-making body.
