{"id":3783,"date":"2010-03-26T11:45:05","date_gmt":"2010-03-26T15:45:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=3783"},"modified":"2010-03-26T11:40:30","modified_gmt":"2010-03-26T15:40:30","slug":"police-charge-hamilton-after-melbourne-burnouts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/police-charge-hamilton-after-melbourne-burnouts\/","title":{"rendered":"Police charge Hamilton after Melbourne burnouts"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Lewis Hamilton was on Friday night charged by local police after he was caught doing smoky burnouts and &#8216;fish-tailing&#8217; in a Mercedes road car near the Albert Park circuit.<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>At 9.15pm in St Kilda, within sight of the turn 13 section of the formula one circuit, the 2008 world champion was pulled over by a Victorian Police divisional van.<\/p>\n<p>We reported earlier on Friday that the 25-year-old McLaren driver&#8217;s company car this weekend is a silver 2010 E500 saloon.<\/p>\n<p>Police charged Hamilton, who will be summoned, with improper use of a motor vehicle and have impounded the car for 48 hours. Police confirmed that a 25-year-old Briton has been charged.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Constable Scott Woodford said the man was &#8220;extremely cooperative&#8221; and &#8220;fairy disappointed&#8221; with the incident.
