\u00a0<\/p>\nTribute to Mosport’s 50th Season and Vintage MG Drivers Focus Event Highlight Weekend Father’s Day Weekend Festivities<\/p>\n
(BOWMANVILLE, ON \u2013 June 14, 2010)\u00a0 This Father’s Day Weekend will be a trip down memory lane at Mosport International Raceway as the historic circuit plays host to the 31st Annual International Vintage Festival, June 18-20.<\/p>\n
Event organizers, the Vintage Automobile Racing Association (VARAC) will join Mosport to celebrate the 50th race season of the famous road course.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0On track activities include the Vintage MG Drivers Focus Event, plus races in popular classes like the Open Wheel, Historic and Vintage Production, Sports Racer and 70+.\u00a0 Canada’s largest Mini gathering, Mini Meet North will return to celebrate 51 years of the Original Mini and 10 years of the New Mini.<\/p>\n
The 2010 Vintage Festival will return to the glory years of “grassroots sportscar racing” with three days of on-track action.\u00a0 Hundreds of cars and drivers from all across Canada and the United States will participate.<\/p>\n
The Vintage MG Drivers Focus Event will feature MG’s of all era’s and descriptions.\u00a0 Other marques to watch for will be Alfa, Austin Healy, Daimler, Fiat, Jaguar, Porsche, Mini, Sadler, Sunbeam, Triumph and Formula cars.<\/p>\n
Off track, motorsport author and novelist, Burt Levy will be on hand to sign autographs, introduce his latest novel and provide colour commentary from the broadcast booth.\u00a0 The “Field Of Dreams” car show will have sports cars and hot-rods from all over North America.\u00a0 They will have parade laps on Sunday afternoon on-track at no-charge to participants.<\/p>\n
Everyone is invited to walk through the paddock and get up close to the cars and drivers.\u00a0 There will be booths and vendors of all types set up.<\/p>\n
The three-day weekend SuperTicket is just $30 until June 16 ($35 at the Gate). Single-day tickets are also available.\u00a0 Each ticket includes parking, access to the paddock and admission to Mosport Speedway’s Saturday Night Stock Car racing at the half-mile paved oval located on the grounds.\u00a0 As with all Mosport events, children 12 and under are admitted for free when accompanied by a paid adult admission.<\/p>\n
