(BOWMANVILLE, ON \u2013 June 13, 2010) \u2013 Mathieu Audette took control of Sunday\u2019s 20-lap Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship presented by Toyo Tires feature race early at Mosport International Raceway\u2019s Vortex Brake Pads 200.<\/p>\n

Unlike Saturday, sunny skies and warm temperatures prevailed, enabling drivers to push their machines to their limits, and Audette wasted little time in moving his Audette Racing Acura RSX into the lead.<\/p>\n

Starting from the outside of the front row next to polesitter Nick Wittmer, Audette took the lead on the fifth lap and didn\u2019t look back.<\/p>\n

\"Ciekiewicz-3A3625\"<\/p>\n

Dave Ciekiewicz, who started fourth, moved his Denington Wenzel Motorsports Subaru WRX up to second, but would not seriously threaten Audette\u2019s lead. He finished 10.032 seconds back.<\/p>\n

Wittmer finished third in Super Touring in his Lombardi Racing Honda Civic.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was sure that Nick was going to be quicker, but I saw at the beginning of the race he almost lost the rear through [turns] one and two, and he was just all over the place. I knew he was a quick driver, but his car wasn\u2019t there today,\u201d Audette said.<\/p>\n

In the Touring class, Durabond\/Compass360 Racing\u2019s Karl Thomson took the victory behind the wheel of his Honda Civic Si, by a margin of 2.118 seconds over the M&S Racing Honda Civic Si of Tom Kwok.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause of the rain yesterday we raced [and qualified] a little further up ahead of other guys, who traditionally run similar lap times to us, but are slower except for the straights. We knew where we [started] today was really paramount,\u201d Thomson said.<\/p>\n

Thomson\u2019s Durabond\/Compass360 teammate Anthony Rapone, who came to Mosport with the class point lead, finished third.<\/p>\n

The NOS Energy Drink Fastest Lap Award went to YTR Motorsport\u2019s Gregory Pootmans who posted a 1:31.896 in his BMW 330i. Tom Kwok posted the fastest lap in Touring with a 1:35.508.<\/p>\n

The MK Technologies Hard Charger Award went to Aldo Racing\u2019s David Bensadoun, who finished 8th in his BMW E46 330i after starting 29th.<\/p>\n

The ANZE Suspension Hard Luck Award went to Touring car driver Kurt Langeveldt who had to return to his team\u2019s shop to install a new turbo in his Can-Saf Motorsports Mazda Protege after it blew in Saturday\u2019s race. Despite the team\u2019s efforts, Langeveldt was forced to retire after just five laps on Sunday and finished 32nd.<\/p>\n

The next stop on the schedule is the Grand Prix of Mirabel at Circuit ICAR in Mirabel, Quebec, July 3-4.<\/p>\n

The Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship Presented By Toyo Tires is Canada’s Premiere Touring Car Series and features Canada’s Best Drivers Racing Today’s Hottest Touring Cars. The Championship is showcased at seven event weekends in Quebec and Ontario with marquee events at Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres and Honda Indy Toronto.<\/p>\n
