Felipe Massa backed his team on Sunday after Ferrari said Lewis Hamilton racing to second place after overtaking the safety car was a “scandal”.<\/p>\n
His teammate Fernando Alonso, running behind Hamilton’s McLaren at the time but ultimately finishing just ninth, was furious after the European grand prix at Valencia.<\/p>\n
And after a separate stewards enquiry, no fewer than nine drivers were found guilty of driving too quickly under safety car conditions, but handed just 5 second penalties that left Brazilian Massa out of the points.<\/p>\n
“It was a disaster for us,” said Massa, also criticising the stewards for needing “20 minutes” to determine that Hamilton had breached the rules.<\/p>\n
“The decisions of the stewards were completely wrong,” added the Brazilian.<\/p>\n
